Painted by Rupert Farquhar-Pemberton, as part of his community payback, July 2001.
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on July 31, 2010, 22:27:47 That was quick.
Goes to show that community payback can be done on stations :P Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Electric train on July 31, 2010, 22:31:08 No 3 Brighton
No 4 Slough relief platforms turbo UP train and is on Plat 5 Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on July 31, 2010, 22:32:01 No 3 Brighton Yeah, just spotted I missed a bit to edit out. But I think you would have got it anyway :)Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on July 31, 2010, 22:37:47 Pic 5: Still in FGW area.
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Chris from Nailsea on July 31, 2010, 22:43:55 5. No idea where it is - but isn't there a certain irony, having an apparently trashed TVM, right next to a penalty fares notice? ::)
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Electric train on July 31, 2010, 22:44:24 5 looks very Twyfordish to me
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on July 31, 2010, 22:46:13 Correct it's Twyford. This was taken the evening after the mass TVM attacks. There are usually 2 TVM's in this area.
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: JayMac on August 01, 2010, 00:26:31 Is 2 Motherwell?
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on August 01, 2010, 14:23:07 4 is indeed Slough - sorry didn't see you had answered it.
2 is not Motherwell. It's not that far from Glasgow though - as a clue I have posted about going to this part of Scotland in the past :) Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Tim on August 02, 2010, 08:56:39 Is 2 Exhibition Centre (Glasgow)?
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: eightf48544 on August 02, 2010, 12:16:55 1. Paddington Station. Painted by Rupert Farquhar-Pemberton, as part of his community payback, July 2001. I saw this being painted and commented at the time as to why they were obviously a B1 and another LNER loco on a GWR station. Where's the tapered boiler and Belpaire firebox of most GW engines? I also pionted out a howler in the FGW pasenger magazine where they used clip art of a "Southern" pacific. No not a MN or WC/BB which would have been bad enough, although their boiler would outsteam a King, but Southern USA. Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on August 02, 2010, 22:10:16 Is 2 Exhibition Centre (Glasgow)? No but trains do go from Exhibition Centre to this particular station, and would then terminate.Edit: because I confused myself =P Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: grahame on August 02, 2010, 22:22:31 Balloch?
Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Ollie on August 02, 2010, 22:28:17 That's the one :)

No but trains do go from Exhibition Centre to this particular station, and would then terminate.I think Dalmuir is the station where Exhibtion Centre trains terminate, but I am not convinced that is what is in the photo. I don;t recall those colour bricks at Dalmuir. I thought that the ticket office there was a "Portacabin". Dalmuir woudl also be a funny place to travel to unless you were visiting someone who lived there. Title: Re: Couple Pics Post by: Tim on August 03, 2010, 09:15:18 ....The terminus at the other end of the line is Lanark which is my new guess. Lanack seems more of a distination for a visitor/tourist (I am assuming that is what Ollie was?) with the Falls of Clyde and the Mill etc at New Lanark.
It was over 10 years since I was there and again I don;t remember the modern brickwork as in your photo but perhaps I wasn't paying attention.
