Title: Enough is enough Post by: johoare on July 28, 2010, 21:28:54 A man fainted on me tonight on the 19.18 Paddington to Maidenhead due to the severe overcrowding. We need the 18.33 departure back.. I am so cross because the remaining trains are now usually overcrowded.. and tonight the 19.06 was delayed so instead of having two trains worth of people on one train, we had three.. It is not acceptable.. FGW however think it i.. I am now at a loss what to do, apart from catching people who faint..

I happen to be in a meeting with the FGW Regional Manager for the West of England this Friday, so I'll be handing him some printed copies of certain posts on this forum, and asking him some rather searching questions on the points raised here - and I'll be asking him to pass them on to his colleagues in the London area, as appropriate! Apart from that: were any on-board staff alerted to the condition of this particular passenger? If so, what action did they take? Chris. Title: Re: Enough is enough Post by: johoare on July 28, 2010, 21:52:48 It was a turbo.. So no on board staff (driver aside). Not that there would be room for any :)
It happened a bit before Maidenhead and, once propped back up, he was then leaning on the door that had to open to let everyone off.. So we did make sure that he didn't fall out, also he didn't know where he was until we told him but he decided to get off for some fresh air once we told him as he had a few more stops to go. I had to leave as I'd been called by work and had to go home to work but once off the train he was right near the driver (we were at the front), and also had another passenger looking after him.. So whether the driver or any other station staff were alerted I don't know I'm afraid.. I do now feel guilty I couldn't stay as I would have driven him home to make sure all was ok..But equally I shouldn't feel guilty as FGW should not treat their passengers in this manner and make them ill like this..
