I'm seated in a room that's near to a railway line. I've been here before (last year), and never heard the railway, but I'm now hearing a train about - what - every 30 minutes or so. There has been no major change in the timetable on the line since my previous visit. So why can I hear it now, when I couldn't before? Title: Re: Hear today, but not hear last year. I'm just north of Lymington Town station, so I'm hearing it as it blasts out northwards twice an hour, but not hearing it as it coasts in southwards - thus "2 times" not "4 times" per hour.
