First Great Western - a part of the First Group * Network Rail (NR) provide the track and signalling and timetable coordination Network Rail is a not for profit organisation in public ownership * The Department for Transport (DfT) specify franchise arrangements to co-ordinate the arrangements * Transport Authorities provide requirement and direction In my area, that's Wiltshire County Council (WCC). * ROSCOs (Rolling Stock Companies) lease trains to the TOCs e.g. Porterbrook, Angel Trains This Section used to be called Who's who at FGW but the scope has now been widened to include all the other organisations who form an integral part of the mesh. It could just as easily be "Fred George Williams" as our local TOC ... Google for "1 FGW Bentley" brings me the Bentley Train Simulator, Bentley in Hampshire, and John Bentley school in Calne.
