Title: 150/153 combination noise
Post by: LiskeardRich on June 25, 2010, 19:44:17
i have just been out of my house as i heard a very noisy train passing the viaduct at the end of my road, expecting to see some loco hauled combination it turned to be a 150/153 combined, the 150 was leading with the 153 at the back, are these normally very noisy workings or would you think it to of been a breakdown rescue? it passed over Angarrack Viaduct between Hayle and Gwinear road at 1930 approximate, i'd assume this to of been the 1916 penzance to plymouth service

19.16 ex Penzance is booked for a 150/153 combo Fridays only.
The train works down as the 15.57 ex Plymouth and usually leaves the 153 at Penzance for use as one of the units on the following days Falmouth.
There are one or two noisey 153s about at the moment or it could have been a exhaust broken or holed on one of the units.
