Title: Suffolk Conservative MP struck by train in London - 19 June 2010 Post by: readytostart on June 19, 2010, 14:11:10 From the BBC:
A Suffolk Conservative MP is recovering after being hit by a train at a London railway station. David Ruffley, who represents Bury St Edmunds, suffered only "minor injuries" in the rush-hour incident at Victoria on Thursday evening. He was taken to hospital for treatment. A spokeswoman for British Transport Police (BTP) said the incident is not being treated as suspicious. The MP has represented the seat since 1997. He returned with a majority of 12,380 on 6 May and is a former Opposition whip and shadow police reform minister. The BTP spokeswoman added: "The incident was reported to police at 1700 BST. "London Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to St Thomas' Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries." A Conservative Party spokeswoman said: "David Ruffley received minor injuries at a London railway station on Thursday evening." Just to update this topic, here is a link to an article in the Sun: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3020587/Tory-MP-David-Ruffley-throws-himself-under-train.html
However, as this incident is still under investigation, I don't think it will be appropriate for us to speculate any further here - just for the moment. Thanks, Chris. :-X Title: Re: Suffolk Conservative MP struck by train in London - 19 June 2010 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on October 11, 2010, 22:04:13 From the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-11512469):
