Title: Fowl deeds in Dawlish !
Post by: chrisoates on June 08, 2010, 01:31:02
Hopefully the right place - Black Swans nested in early March but none have survived - four were hatched late due to the cold weather..one immediately vanished (drowned by competing pair ?) the rest died by Mink and Dogs.
Nature being a survivor...the next breeding pair laid and hatched eggs in the same nest...the Warden moved Mum & Dad plus 3 Cygnets to the newly built pen along with a lump of turf and all are doing well.

The male Mallards are as usual raping the females, the all male Muscovy Ducks are having sex with each other - apart from that all is good at Dawlish as Gays Ice Creams are getting even larger and more delicious.

(Red Rock cafe egg & bacon sarnie similarly scrummy)
