Title: HST Coach codes Post by: Vespasian on June 02, 2010, 07:53:00 Idle question but what do the new G2HG etc codes mean on the coach ends? The TOPS codes are still in place alongside them.
Many thanks in advance Title: Re: HST Coach codes Post by: eightf48544 on June 02, 2010, 10:34:56 Be thankful we don't use the UIC codes, they pracitcally tell you who applied the transfers with all the numbers on.

Title: Re: HST Coach codes Post by: Mookiemoo on June 06, 2010, 23:57:49 Outside. ;) Thats why I never noticed them then - I'm normally too busy reading a book or playing with my phone!Title: Re: HST Coach codes Post by: eightf48544 on June 07, 2010, 10:20:20 My personal favourite is '4LAV' a Four Car Lavatory Unit (Lavatory in one car) - that's the description. Anyone seen one?! Know them well from my time at Essex House Croydon (Central Divsion HQ Now demolished!). Used to work the Brighton semi fasts. Coming down from Claydon tunnel the seat went one way the racks went another and the slam doors rattled in sympathy. I believe they known as "Thunderjugs" or something similar. Like all Southern units they were built to last and did over 30 years up and down the Brighton line, how many million miles they did I don't know. Title: Re: HST Coach codes Post by: Vespasian on June 12, 2010, 08:52:11 Wonderful! Thank you. Sorry for the dealy, been away.
