Which you have: thanks! Chris. ;) :D ;D Edit Note: I've now merged the two topics which both covered this 'blip' on the FGW website. ;D Title: Re: Line problem between West Drayton and Slough (30 May 2010) Post by: JayMac on May 30, 2010, 17:26:42 Airport Junction SSI module hiccup I wonder Wos one of them then? I was wondering why my (and other peoples) journey was delayed today.. I'm none the wiser then but I will look out for that new level crossing tomorrow ;D
Also, new level crossing aside, information at Maidenhead today was non existent other than to announce trains pretty much as they were arriving but nothing in advance.. When I arrived at Maidenhead, the 11.36 to London was up as cancelled but no announcements were made to say why.. Also the the 11.31 to Bedwyn (I think) was up for ten minutes after it's due time as being on time..The total lack of information was quite amazing... Any reason for this? New technology maybe? All I had was an iphone! Apologies Sometimes it subs in crud Note: I am officially dyslexic. I auto spell check on the PC but the iphone sometimes has a life of its own. Its only apparent in written etc - ask me to spell it verbally and I can - ask me to write it - you may get gibber. The iphone sort of fixes it but not as good as the computer. Title: Re: Line problem between West Drayton and Slough (30 May 2010) Post by: John R on May 31, 2010, 22:29:03 An iphone? Wot. No iPad yet?
(By the way, am I the only one to think that yesterday's F1 coverage was the best publicity the BBC could give to Apple? There was Jake Humphrey using his iPad to show Mark Webber a video at the opening, and he continued to be glued to it until the start of the race. Apple must have been overjoyed.) Not very good at rocket surgery either. ;)
I actually heard someone* in a local hardware store describe putting up shelves as 'hardly rocket surgery' !!! (Still way off topic, I blame the red wine!) *And no, it wasn't a driver or a guard! Title: Re: Line problem between West Drayton and Slough (30 May 2010) Post by: Phil on June 01, 2010, 08:16:53 I was at a meeting recently when someone in their exasperation exclaimed, "Well you hardly need to be a rocket scientist to understand the concept!"
There was a brief silence, then a lady to my left quietly said, "Actually, I am a rocket scientist. And I'm really struggling with this..."
