DO YOU KNOW THESE MEN? BTP ISSUES CCTV IMAGES FOLLOWING ASSAULT ON TRAIN GUARD - BIRMINGHAM

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify two men they would like to speak to in connection with an assault on a member of rail staff in Birmingham.

Officers have today released CCTV images of two men they believe can help with their enquiries into the incident which happened when the Hereford-Birmingham New Street service stopped at University rail station.

At about 5.06pm on Saturday 20 February, the guard was carrying out ticket checks and found two men without tickets hiding in two separate toilets on board the train.

When the guard challenged the men, who had boarded the train at Droitwich rail station, one admitted having no ticket and no money.

Both men left the train when it arrived at University rail station but, while doing so, one threatened the conductor who feared for his safety.

Anyone who knows the identity or the whereabouts of the men in the CCTV images is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, quoting incident number 398 of 20/02/2010.
