Title: SHODDY WORK Post by: martyjon on September 25, 2007, 08:43:25 Slightly over the border from the area covered by this forum.
Over the weekend of 22/23 September 2007 work was undertaken to renew some track between Wareham and Dorchester South. Early on Monday 24th an ECS Desiro en route to Weymouth to run the first Up service to Waterloo encountered problems on the newly laid stretch of track through a badly misaligned conductor rail and lost all its current pick up shoes and ground to a halt and had to be rescued by another Desiro. I understand services were disrupted for the remainder of the day whilst remedial work to rectify the situation was taking place.
