Title: Railway bridge crash stops trains. (BBC News 01/05/2010) Post by: JayMac on May 02, 2010, 04:59:00 From the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/bristol/8656033.stm):
Quote Trains and traffic were disrupted earlier after a lorry carrying a digger hit a railway bridge near Bristol. The crash happened on Gipsy Patch Lane in Patchway, near Filton Airport, at about 1330 BST. Train services between Bristol and Newport in Wales were suspended after the incident. A First Great Western spokeswoman said services had resumed at about 1500 BST. Some delays might still occur, she added. She said engineers had declared the bridge structurally sound and advised travellers to check the First Great Western website for updates. Gipsy Patch Lane was closed in both directions and diversions were in place. The road has since reopened.
