Title: Where was I yesterday? A 'pictures from Melksham' question - but NOT a quiz!
Post by: Chris from Nailsea on April 18, 2010, 22:57:15
I'm not setting this as a quiz question, as most of these pictures will be blatantly obvious!

I was glad to see that the font anomaly on the Melksham station sign has been now corrected:

Some work has been done on the track, too - it looks much neater now (I teased Lee that it was being made ready for redoubling ::) ):

However: my actual question is, what is this ancient, but still apparently necessary, piece of electrical ironmongery?

I'm rather afraid that you have a picture of the more southerly of the two signs on the station - the pole behind it indicates that - which has had a proper size "m" all the time.  And I was of the impression that the ancient thing is a flange oiler rather than anything electric - but thinking about it, I'm on a sticky wicket on that, and would welcome confirmation.
