Title: New use for train
Post by: grahame on February 26, 2010, 17:36:13
I've just received a (spam) email with the following subject line ...

Quote
Train to become a photographer.

Am I the only one to thing that trains should not be redeployed in this way but should carry on moving people around the country?  ;)

More silliness on the subject of photography and trains - from the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8539361.stm):

Mall bans father from photographing son in Sunderland

A father was told he was not allowed take pictures of his four-year-old son at a Sunderland shopping centre because of fears he could be a paedophile.
Kevin Geraghty-Shewan, of Kent, was challenged by a security guard at The Bridges after photographing his son Ben on a children's train ride.
He was told he could not prove Ben was his son and later quizzed by a police officer called to the centre.

"He was told he could not prove Ben was his son"

Um, maybe ask Ben who the man with him is. Get the answer "Daddy" in all likelihood.

Like you Btline, I got a bit angry at the sheer idiocy of this security guard.

Whilst the stupidity of the security guard was bad enough, the actions of the attending plods almost seem worse to me: they're supposed to be well trained to deail with situations like this in which, surely, it was blindingly obvious that the kid was with his dad!

Even if the man was a paedophile, why would stopping him taking a photo achieve anything?  I don't understand.
