Title: Freight train derails in Hampshire (22 February 2010)
Post by: Chris from Nailsea on February 22, 2010, 22:15:15
From the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8529185.stm):

Quote
Thousands of rush-hour commuters had their journeys disrupted after a freight train derailed in Hampshire.
A wagon on a freight train travelling from Eastleigh to Westbury in Wiltshire came off the track in the Millbrook area at 1520 GMT, Network Rail said.
Train services from London's Waterloo to Weymouth, Dorset, were severely affected until the line reopened shortly before 1900 GMT.
The caused of the incident was still being investigated, a spokesman said.
"There will still be some disruptions but people should turn up as normal," he added.

Could be worth putting this on the Portsmouth to Cardiff board as well/instead, since Millbrook is on the route - if there's any angry people wanting to know why they were delayed, you'd be performing a valuable public service... ;)

Thanks, The Grecian - I'll blame a 'senior moment' for my absent-mindedly posting it on the wrong board initially!  C.  :-[
