Title: Weston to Highbridge
Post by: DWill on January 27, 2010, 16:13:48
I will shortly be moving to Weston but due to my company relocating, will be working in Highbridge. The only suitable trains for me will be the 07.50 to Highbridge and returning to Weston on the 17.25. Will I have any problem with these trains in terms of overcrowding, or are they reasonably quiet?

Welcome DWill

I'm sure you won't have a problem with these services as they are running against the main flow of commuter traffic which is towards Bristol in the morning. Though I have no personal knowledge of the services in question.

Yes, welcome to the Coffee Shop forum, DWill!  :)

I agree - these days, if we do have any problems with trains on this part of the network causing crowding, it's the main commuter services into BRI in the morning.  And even that's quite unusual, these days.

Please do let us know how it turns out, though!

The timekeeping of the 1725 is rather questionable, as it has a very limited turn around time at Taunton in the other direction.

Thanks for your help guys. devon_metro - are you saying that it would have a tendency to be late, rather than not turning up at all?

Probably about  up to 10 late like it was yesterday

Hang on a minute. It may have been late yesterday, but one swallow does not make a summer.
I have worked that train and can't remember it being a notorious late runner.

It often seems to get/cause delay(ed) by/to the 1506 Pad - Pnz at Taunton. Perhaps it has improved but from what I remember it was a 10 min turnround.
