In all seriousness though, if you reckon you have information that could be materially useful to the investigation then it might be worth contacting RAIB (and maybe not discussing it in this public setting ;) ). Title: Re: Near miss at Victory AHB crossing, 19 Dec 09 Post by: The Grecian on January 11, 2010, 20:23:52 I remember that - I was on the northbound XC 1823 service from Exeter to Brizzle and we got stopped between Norton Fitzwarren and Taunton for about 10 minutes. We then set off again and met the southbound FGW HST service (which I assume was the train involved) a few minutes later around 1900. I didn't see anything but I remember the train manager's announcement that someone 'might' have been hit - I assumed as we were soon on our way again they clearly hadn't fortunately.

I passed this area today and I noticed that sidings have been laid on part of the formation of the Devon and Somerset Railway branch linking into the recent triangle that the WSR has built. Only a short siding (I guess for stabling) on the former line to Barnstaple Victoria Road, so only another 45ish miles to go!! Trains to Wivey anyone?
