Title: Slough station waiting room - platform 3/4
Post by: johoare on December 19, 2009, 21:01:01
Whilst spending an unexpected and unwanted 25 minutes at Slough station earlier (cancelled train (18.13 going West) and no reason given), and because it was SO cold.. I ventured into the waiting room..

Which led to the discovery that all the lovely announcements aren't available in the waiting room.. We could hear announcements being made outside, just not what they were..

Now that strikes me as being a little silly, after all there is a nice big indicator board in there with the trains on.. But nothing to tell us of last minute alterations (e.g. stopping at different stations to expected)..

And also the door to platform 3 (ie the nearest exit from the waiting room to the quick London service on platform 3 doesn't work) which is ok if you're not wheelchair bound but if you are I take it you can't wait in the waiting room. Its been like this for nigh on a year. WHY CAN'T SOMEONE FIX IT?

In fact Slough station is proper cac.

..now that would explain the people coming out of that door then running over the steps to platform 3.. just before I decided to go in to the waiting room rather than freeze.. Excellent situation then  ;D
