Title: It's the little things.....
Post by: JayMac on December 12, 2009, 15:02:03
Some time ago I asked FGW if they'd consider moving the last SVB line departure to 2216 instead of 2215. This little change would make it possible for an advertised connection at BRI from the 1920 SWT ex-Waterloo service which is timed to arrive at BRI at 2206.

This change appears to have been done judging by the new timetable and, for me at least, it is welcome. No longer will I have to rely on goodwill from a Duty Station Manager when I'm delayed on the SWT service. I can now get my onward travel courtesy of the NRCoC.

In the past year I have been delayed 4 times when the fault lay with the rail network and twice I was given a taxi to Shirehampton, despite the advertised arrival time of the SWT service being 1 minute shy of BRI's 10 minute minimum connection time.

On two other occasions I was given short shrift and merely fobbed off with a 'them's the rules, sorry mate.' That lack of consistency is frustrating for a passenger.

Well the rules are now in my favour.....
