Title: Re: ? New Railway Company for Somerset and Wilts Post by: inspector_blakey on November 20, 2009, 18:41:04 I knew nothing about them either, but coincidentally there's a post about them on the Railway Eye blog this morning (I wonder if The Fact Compiler is reading the posts on this august forum...?). It contains a bit more insight and has a quote from the boss of the co-op

Title: Re: ? New Railway Company for Somerset and Wilts Post by: Andrew1939 from West Oxon on October 15, 2011, 15:52:49 There was a lot of publicity about the Go - Co-op some 18 months ago but since then everything has gone very quiet. There seems to be nothing much on their web site either.
Does any one know if this is still an active project or has it come to a dead stop due to the enormous rail red tape that seems to apply to any new rail ideas? Title: Re: ? New Railway Company for Somerset and Wilts Post by: anthony215 on October 15, 2011, 20:21:22 It has gone quiet, especially about the plan to use the parry people mover.
I thought the proposed mainline train service between Westbury and Oxford was a good idea, but would it be profitable? This isnt the only 1 the planned passenger service between Exeter & Okehampton has also gone quiete This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
