Title: Excellent service on last night train from Paddington to Reading Post by: Glovidge on October 30, 2009, 18:32:11 I attended a gig in the Albert Hall the other night and missed the penulltimate train (in the pub!)so had to wait for an hour. Obviously slightly drunk etc. Anyway I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw a female train manager on the last service (01:35ish) from Paddington to Reading. I said so as well. A credit to FGW Very dilligent, owed a duty of care to passengers and was not too concerned about the possible risk to her good self of "doing" the last train from London
(I was with my girlfriend btw before anyone gest the idea that I fell in love!) So on the train this morning, 9:10am and an approx 90min journey, my ticket was not checked once. So someone is prepared to check on the last service out of London at considerable risk to HER own safety but noone can be bothered between 9 to 10:45am this morning. WEIRD Title: Re: Excellent service on last night train from Paddington to Reading Post by: IndustryInsider on October 30, 2009, 18:43:41 I can probably guess who that was! There's always a Reading based conductor travelling on that train having arrived with the late evening train from Hereford around 01:15. The majority will just stay in the back cab and read the paper. A small number (including an Irish female) will actually go through the train. Bearing in mind the number of scum that loiter around that time of night (not referring to you personally of course!), I really do admire her.

I also think I know who you mean - if she also works the cotswolds line she's the only TM/Guard I know of who does a FULL ticket check between every station and operate the SDO with all the short stations............ If it s not - then there are two of em out there - and all Wimmin This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
