Title: Portsmouth - Cardiff Disruption (23/08/2007) Post by: Lee on August 23, 2007, 10:50:43 This includes the cancellation of a key Dean and Mottisfont & Dunbridge train but Bradford - on - Avon fares better :
09:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 12:49 This train has been started from Bristol Temple Meads. It will no longer call at: Cardiff Central, Newport South Wales and Filton Abbey Wood. This is due to a train fault. 10:30 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour due 13:49 This train has been revised. It will additionally call at: Bradford-On-Avon. 08:22 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central due 11:41 This train has been revised. It will additionally call at: Bradford-On-Avon. 08:25 Southampton Central to Cardiff Central due 11:24 This train will be started from Bristol Temple Meads. It will no longer call at: Southampton Central, Romsey, Dunbridge, Dean, Salisbury, Warminster, Dilton Marsh, Westbury, Trowbridge, Bradford-On-Avon, Avoncliff, Freshford, Bath Spa, Oldfield Park and Keynsham. The revision of the last train on the list leaves a 2 - hour gap for Avoncliff , Freshford & Oldfield Park and a 3 - hour gap for Dilton Marsh. At BTM, I saw a 2-car Portsmouth- Cardiff train today, barely standing room only. When will FGW learn this just isn't good enough? They darn right know it isn't good enough, but can't be arsed to sort it out! Title: Re: Portsmouth - Cardiff Disruption (23/08/2007) Post by: Timmer on August 23, 2007, 22:30:43 Sad because they are getting away with providing the passenger with poor service by not running enough carriages to provide a reasonably decent service and the Dft lets them get away with it.

To the DfT, they are meeting their franchise targets, which is why they get away with it!
