Title: Changes for Dec TT - track access application Post by: paul7575 on October 08, 2009, 13:32:32 Quote To facilitate changes to Turbo deployment, improve the flighting of trains in the Didcot Parkway-Oxford area, including Oxford platforming, and maximise connectional opportunities at Didcot Parkway - the 0624 SX Bicester-Oxford is extended to Didcot Parkway. The 0522 SX Paddington-Bicester ceases to be held at Didcot Parkway and runs fast to Oxford where it terminates. Didcot Parkway - Oxford - Bicester intermediate flows are covered by a new 0709 SX Didcot Parkway-Bicester; from: http://www.networkrail.co.uk/browse%20documents/track%20access/1%20current%20consultations/2009.10.07%20first%20greater%20western%2052nd%20supplemental%20agreemnt%20-%20closing%20date%20for%20responses%2030%20october%202009/draft%2022%20for%20fgw%2052nd%20supp.pdf (http://www.networkrail.co.uk/browse%20documents/track%20access/1%20current%20consultations/2009.10.07%20first%20greater%20western%2052nd%20supplemental%20agreemnt%20-%20closing%20date%20for%20responses%2030%20october%202009/draft%2022%20for%20fgw%2052nd%20supp.pdf) Paul Title: Re: Changes for Dec TT - track access application Post by: inspector_blakey on October 10, 2009, 21:52:49 Quote To facilitate changes to Turbo deployment, improve the flighting of trains in the Didcot Parkway-Oxford area, including Oxford platforming, and maximise connectional opportunities at Didcot Parkway... In other words, "to improve stock utilization, train pathing and available connections". Whoever wrote that absurdly opaque piece of "prose" (I'm using the term loosely) really ought to be ashamed of themselves! That aside, hidden behind all the bullsh*t, it sounds like an eminently sensible change!
