Title: Fatality at Slough - 27 September 2009 Post by: James Vertigan on September 27, 2009, 22:24:41 Train services are being disrupted due to a person hit by a train between London Paddington and Reading.Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays can be expected.
South West Trains, CrossCountry, London Underground and Chiltern are all accepting First Great Western ticket holders on all reasonable journeys. ---------------------------------------------- Happened in the last three hours or so... must be a bit chaotic with people returning from weekends away, but then it could also be fairly quiet. Not to be nasty, but it does make a change from the usual suicide spot of Southall. Title: Re: Fatality at Slough - 27 September Post by: Mookiemoo on September 27, 2009, 22:43:18 At least its not rush hour an a friday which is when the ungrateful blighters usually choose!
I support anyone's right to kill themselves but if they could please do it in a way that does not inconvenience 1000s of people, I'm sure not only I would appreciate it. I'm also of the (unpopular) view that if someone chooses their demise in this way - their estate should be sequestered to pay compensation to the people inconvenienced by their choice. Maybe if they knew their loved ones would lose everything they may think twice Title: Re: Fatality at Slough - 27 September Post by: John R on September 27, 2009, 23:01:12 I agree with you wholeheartedly. But there was enough hoo-ha when DLR chose to claim compensation off someone who threatened to kill themselves (but were persuaded not to) for the disruption for many hours to the DLR service that I can't imagine that any TOC (or NR) would try it.
