Title: Six more to place ... more passengers than trains!
Post by: grahame on September 16, 2009, 18:56:43
I expect five out of six of these will be easy and the sixth will have you calling me names ... where are they.

I think 1 is Bath Spa, and the 'appendix' picture is Melksham!  ;D

I know a few of them, but I won't be a spoilsport, i'm thinking 5 is Avoncliff.

Yes - Avoncliff, Bath Spa and the bonus was (of course!) Melksham.   Thanks for doing just one each ... I suspect Chris knows at least one more too (and can p.m. me if he wants to confirm!)

Good so see you becoming unquiet ... but I'm afraid No. 2 is not Westbury

6 is indeed Trowbridge (not Yate - Sorry)

2, 3 and 4 to go.

Well, I'm going to hazard a guess that 4 might be Taunton.  (I recognised the kitbag on the right!)  ;) ::) ;D

Well, I'll agree with 2 being Swindon - but describing 3 as 'Somewhere in Ireland' ?? That's a fairly wide guess, Timmer !!  :o ::) ;D

From the images here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NIR_450_Class it looks like it could be from NI.

Is it somewhere on the Belfast to Larne line?

Yes, 2 is Swindon, 3 is 'somewhere on the Belfast to Larne line', and 4 is indeed Taunton. I'll leave it for a few hours before I tell you just where on Belfast to Larne ... it's the really awkward question and I am not anticipating that the next follow up post will say "it's xxxxxxxx" where xxxxxxxx is correctly identifying a single station!

Yorksgate?

Yorksgate?

No, sorry.   I've tried to be helpful by having a look at what's online about the line; the wikipedia page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belfast-Larne_railway_line does list the station and includes a link to it, but I couldn't spot any specific clues.

I assumed by XXXXXXXX, that the station would have 8 letters, of which only Yorkgate fitted.

Is it Botanic, by any chance?

Sorry - nothing so subtle from me ... it was only roughly the right number of letters.

Is it Botanic, by any chance?

And not, perchance, Botanic

The passengers are getting home at the end of the day, and many need to cross the line - but how can they do so with neither bridge nor subway?

Its Larne Harbour at the end of the line and the passengers can walk around?

I'll level with you - I thought someone might try that very bright guess, but I'm afraid it's wrong
