Title: Town trams in hillside collision at Llandudno (15/09/2009) Post by: Chris from Nailsea on September 16, 2009, 00:01:53 From the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/north_west/8257199.stm):
Quote An investigation has begun after two trams collided on the Great Orme at Llandudno, Conwy. There were no serious injuries reported, but one woman passenger received first aid at the scene. Two trams, on the Conwy Council-run attraction, are reported to have "wedged" into each on a loop near the summit of the Great Orme headland. The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) is on the way, and the tram will remain closed until further notice. Is Britain's only Cable Car that runs through the Streets. But at ^5.60 for a (day) return trip of just 78 chains not cheap. But well worth a Ride. or should I say "Dewch Am Dro" Title: Re: Town trams in hillside collision at Llandudno (15/09/2009) Post by: Phil on August 17, 2010, 13:47:12 Mrs Phil and I were there just last year and had an excellent time. Having once walked up to the Great Orme I have to say that on day 2, I would have happily paid twice the cable car fee for a ride up there and back again!
Wish I could remember the name of the fab little Italian restaurant we found in Llandudno. Nothing classy*, but good food and great value for money. * as I should have realised when I ordered a bottle of the house red and a one litre bottle of Sainsbury's finest turned up! We nevertheless felt duty bound to polish it off between us, needless to say. Using a 'mechanical bistable memory device' [1] doesn't seem to have been that smart though... [1] a technical term I just made up... ;D Paul Title: Re: Town trams in hillside collision at Llandudno (15/09/2009) Post by: vacman on August 18, 2010, 11:34:02 Llandudno...... what a wonderful place ala "Liverpool-on-sea".
