Title: Stagecoach 'to take over' National Express' rail and bus operations.

Agreement has been reached with the new bidder for National Express - Spain's Cosmen family - which owns an 18.5% stake - together with private equity firm CVC that has offered 500p a share, up from an earlier bid of 450p to buy NE, for Stagecoach to buy National Express's bus and rail operations from the consortium if a deal went through.

National Express have noted the offer but have yet to either accept or reject it.
