Anyway, it looks very good! http://thomas-cairns.co.uk/2009/08/first-great-western-pullman-dining/ Quote Quite frankly, one of the best dining experiences you will find on public timetabled trains in the UK. The staff are diligent, thorough and very happy with their line of work. Only operating on a few trains per day now following a recent cut back in May 2009, the Pullman Dining service is still one of the premier restaurant services available, but without a doubt ^ also the most expensive. But you get the service that you expect from the price. Title: Re: FGW Pullman Dining review: Post by: broadgage on August 28, 2009, 23:32:43 I would agree that the Pullman is excellent, indeed the menu reviewed is allmost exactly what I enjoyed last night (18-03 from Paddington, Thursday 27/08)
I ordered the soup, the steak with herb butter, and the pavlova, all most enjoyable. I have used the Pullmans for some years, and have NEVER had cause to complain about the food or the service, not once ! I have however complained frequently about the refusal to allow bookings (now rectified), about the non appearence of the advertised pullman, and about the ongoing reductions in the number of pullmans. I would certainly recomend the service. Booking is advisable on the down trains, especialy on Fridays, but is neither needed nor available on up services. Four menus are served in rotation, the FGW website is often wrong as to which menu is being served, this matters not to me since I enjoy them all. But it might be a consideration for some customers. http://thomas-cairns.co.uk/2009/08/first-great-western-travelling-chef/ I must say, that omelette looks excellent and for only ^3.25!
