Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: Chris from Nailsea on July 12, 2009, 20:42:26 Hmm ... :-[
Is it an acrostic? Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: grahame on July 12, 2009, 21:15:00 Hmm ... :-[ Is it an acrostic? Yes, if you consider it downtic too BTLine, I could replace Radstock by Wantage Road or Kenilworth ... Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: TerminalJunkie on July 13, 2009, 00:33:25 Well, it happens to be an anagram of
Melksham screwed Dreadful coincidence, taxicabs twelfthly overpriced Spits t'dirt That's not particularly interesting, though :) Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: Chris from Nailsea on July 13, 2009, 03:08:36 It's rather clever - and funny - though! ;) :D ;D

Melksham screwed Dreadful coincidence, taxicabs twelfthly overpriced Spits t'dirt That's not particularly interesting, though :) I could have sworn that Melksham hadn't even made it to the initial table (though it could have been there in place of Montpelier). Isn't it fun what you can do (especially you, TJ) with anagrams! Think "magic" ... and it's a square Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: grahame on July 14, 2009, 07:23:58 I think I have made this too obscure. How many passenger platforms are there at each of these places? (Goodness - I hope I got them right!)
Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: devon_metro on July 14, 2009, 14:07:34 Do the number of platforms make up a Sodoku square?
Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: Btline on July 14, 2009, 16:57:44 A magic square where every row and column add to the same number?
Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: grahame on July 14, 2009, 17:11:54 A magic square where every row and column add to the same number? Yes, that's correct ... and the diagonals as well! Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: Btline on July 14, 2009, 17:55:19 ...and the diagonals as well! Didn't spot that! How long did it take for you to make this? Or did you use a pre square template? Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: grahame on July 15, 2009, 05:58:45 How long did it take for you to make this? Or did you use a pre square template? I knew they existing / the principle, and I used Google which took me here (http://www.markfarrar.co.uk/msqart01.htm). Bit of manipulation (you can add on / take the same number off all elements and the table remains magic. Biggest job was finding stations with some of the higher numbers of platforms ... is there anywhere in FGW territory with 8? Title: Re: Look at this table and tell me .... Post by: jakemonkfish on July 15, 2009, 10:11:49 brighton has 8 platforms
