Title: Old posters showing outdated information Post by: grahame on June 22, 2009, 07:30:51 I was researching a transport issue and came across this - from 21st March 2007 (http://wiltshirelibdems.org.uk/news/000124/first_great_western_challenged_over_melksham_train_service.html)
Quote Q6) Are direct rail services between Swindon and Westbury now properly displayed at all stations on that route both on display boards and customer information screens (where available)? A6) We do have problems with the reliability of the Customer Information System, and part of our investment plan is to replace with a superior system. In the meantime we will ensure that all other channels of customer communication, including timetable posters at stations, are up to date correctly displayed. How little things change. Two years later, there are still reliability problems with the old Customer Information System. And whilst the timetable poster at the station is current, the one in the main bus stop in Melksham Town Centre (where the main operator is First) is now over 13 months out of date ... showing train times as they were in spring of last year! What's the longest-expired poster still on display in YOUR area? (http://ndrailusers.wikispaces.com/file/view/barn_sign.jpg) ...and I think it's still there, but covered by a different poster! Title: Re: Old posters showing outdated information Post by: grahame on June 22, 2009, 09:26:38 Good heavens! Perhaps our December 2007 to May 2008 timetable will still be displayed at the end of the franchise. Let's hope the services running by then are more appropriate!
Title: Re: Old posters showing outdated information Post by: JayMac on June 25, 2009, 05:31:23 Not necessarily outdated info, but definitely an old poster. I took this photo at London Euston a few weeks ago. Got told off by a jobsworth as well!
