Title: Required reading on the loco-hauled set
Post by: John R on June 05, 2009, 21:26:59
Travelling home on the loco-hauled set tonight I noticed the magazine racks were stuffed full of a publication in glossy FGW house colours. A new corporate brochure I thought, and eagerly picked up a copy.

"First Year Review" turned out to be a 22 page review dating from 2007. I never saw it at the time, so can't imagine what it's doing now.

But what a nostalgia trip it is. A forward by Queen Alison, pictures of all the Executive team (wonder how many of them are left?), and lost of fascinating facts like 890,332 litres of tea and coffee were consumed (I think they meant sold, actually) on FGW trains.

I've noticed there's been a lot of clearing out at Milford St of late, so maybe they found a job lot in a cupboard somewhere and decided to put them out rather than sending them to landfill.  ;D

I happen to know who put that there.

The weirdest stuff turns up on that loco-hauled set. Has anyone noticed the new antimacassars?

The night riv headrests are old.

The BSO (blue) has
-XC Quiet Zone sticker
-Poster detailing the loco hauled set
-Lots of other FGW junk

I'm sure "Vacman" would like a word with the person that put it all there ;)
