Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 21:01:45 is 1 Shirehampton

Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Mookiemoo on May 27, 2009, 21:17:33 Thos bright yellow railings look familiar but I doubt they are!
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: devon_metro on May 27, 2009, 21:28:15 The banner repeaters look like those near Cowley Bridge Jn Exeter.
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: grahame on May 27, 2009, 22:01:41 I think the third picture is Keynsham
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: ReWind on May 27, 2009, 22:23:57 1 must be on a HST route, as there is the bicycle sign for bikes to board a HST from. Therefore, through process of elimination, the only single line HST route I can think of is the Cotswold line. But I could be wrong
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 22:27:22 the outer railings on the bridge at Keynsham are blue i belive
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 22:31:05 platform doesnt look rite for any of the Cotswold line single track stations
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Mookiemoo on May 27, 2009, 23:05:38 platform doesnt look rite for any of the Cotswold line single track stations (1) is not the cotswolds line unless its a halt (3) Those yellow rails look similar to those at morton in marsh (well I saw it and thought morton until I realised they were at the end of a platform!) - but there is something bright thqt catches my eye there Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 23:15:32 scrap Shirehampton platforms on the wrong side
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on May 27, 2009, 23:29:49 I would guess that one of them is in the Bristol area, and the other in the Taunton area. I have inspected them all very closely, and I can confirm that none of them are Taunton. :-X ;D Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Btline on May 27, 2009, 23:32:22 Isn't the Weston branch single track? HSTs use that branch.
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 23:41:00 Weston is double threw the station
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Chris from Nailsea on May 27, 2009, 23:52:32 Isn't the Weston branch single track? HSTs use that branch. Actually, it's a loop - but it is single track - and yes, HSTs use it. But it's not Weston. 8) Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: devon_metro on May 27, 2009, 23:54:50 Fairly sure it's not Weston Milton too.
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 27, 2009, 23:57:31 yes sorry i did mean a loop but if you didnt know the line and were stood on the platform edge looking down at the tracks it looks double :)
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 28, 2009, 00:04:54 Heart of Wessex Line.... is any of that single?
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 28, 2009, 00:11:48 ok im going to take a serious guess now... single line, i didnt know that the bike sign was for hst's so that ruled out severn beach line as i originally thought, having spent 20 mins looking at pictures of each single platform station on the cotswolds line im pretty sure its none of them, there is only one single platform station on the weston deviation and i agree with devon metro i dont think its weston milton
to cut a long story short and this is a guess i think its Frome as there is now a morning service to paddington and it may be a hst shoot me down or call me god !! Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: Hafren on May 28, 2009, 00:17:05 I was coming to the same conclusion: after ruling out most single-track stations, Frome seemed to be the only place left - so I turned to a combination of SimSig and Google Maps! (Or is that cheating?) The curve, bridge and multi-aspect signal with subsidiary lights could fit. Too much time on my hands ::)
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: 6 OF 2 redundant adjunct of unimatrix 01 on May 28, 2009, 00:19:55 I was coming to the same conclusion: after ruling out most single-track stations, Frome seemed to be the only place left - so I turned to a combination of SimSig and Google Maps! (Or is that cheating?) The curve, bridge and multi-aspect signal with subsidiary lights could fit. Too much time on my hands ::) i did the same thing :) i ruled out the two other stations on the line with single platforms... one is one of the what i count as cheap platforms made out of huge concrete slabs and the other wouldnt get a hst stopping there Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: FPX on May 28, 2009, 00:28:25 Frome station looking north, Castle Cary down main line 'banner repeater' (signal W156BR, showing that the route is set for the main line towards Taunton) and Bruton station bottom of the footbridge onto the down (westbound) platform .
Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: thetrout on May 28, 2009, 00:31:54 Relex you've been on a role recently... ;D Because number 1 is most definately Frome ;D
I am afraid though that 3 is not Keynsham and that 2 is not Cowley bridge Jn Title: Re: TheTrouts Puzzle Edition 2 Post by: thetrout on May 28, 2009, 00:33:35 Frome station looking north, Castle Cary down main line 'banner repeater' (signal W156BR, showing that the route is set for the main line towards Taunton) and Bruton station bottom of the footbridge onto the down (westbound) platform .
