Title: birmingham to leeds tomorrow morning is there peak time?

sorry i know it may sound like im using this site as a fare checker
ive gone on national rail website the first off peak ticket it gives me for birmingham new street cross country to leeds is 10.03 am (they are hourly)

is this the case?
id like to know as i could really do with catching the 8.03 am

Try splitting your ticket at Derby or somewhere else. That sometimes works at bringing the cost down.

Yes, try split your ticket as soon as the train has left peak times.

So you could buy a peak B'ham to Derby ticket, but then an off-peak Derby to Leeds ticket.

its only half an hour to derby
and by time i get there it wouldnt be worth it
can i get the 8.03 am with off peak return?

Nope, cheapest return on the 8.03 is Anytime Return ^84.

Split at Derby: Anytime Return Derby to Leeds is ^35.50. Anytime Return Birmingham to Derby ^13.70

Total: ^49.20 Saving:^34.80!!!!

If the journey planner says it's peak, it is peak. It doesn't often lie.
