Title: Fare (Fair ?) challenge Post by: moonrakerz on April 20, 2009, 13:52:37 I mentioned this one briefly in another post, but thought I would put it on here to "amuse" others.
I intend to travel from Warminster to Birmingham New St on Jul 8th returning the next day. I have to be in Birmingham by 1700, other than this I can travel at any time both out and back. I have an "old git's" railcard and a ^5 FGW voucher. The best fare that I have managed to come up with is ^11.55 return. I have made one (quite reasonable !) assumption in that calculation. 1. How did I arrive at that fare ? 2. Can anyone better that ? PS: I'm working on a journey from Wick to Penzance next ! PPS: If anyone can better that fare - thank you very, very much - in advance !
