Title: Shock rail crime figures for Truro

TRURO has been named a hotspot for rail crime in the South West.

According to Network Rail, half of the 500 rail crimes recorded in the South West last year involved young people, and people in the Truro area were the fifth-worst offenders in the region. While overall railway crime dropped by 15% from 2007, the 2008 figure shows that many young people are still putting their lives at risk.

As a result, the rail company's community safety team is launching a 'No Messin' campaign this Easter to raise awareness of the dangers to young people of playing on railway lines and warning them to stay away.

It's probably one of the worst places for fare evasion aswell!

people think all of Cornwall is pretty and rural, but the towns have more then their fair share of poverty, crime, anti-social behaviour and bored youths causing trouble
