Title: Info Point at Melksham Station Post by: Sion Bretton on April 05, 2009, 18:14:26 Info Point at Melksham Station the info point at Melksham is still not working.
This is needed as Melksham is unmain a the trains do come either very early 06:40 & 07:17 or later 19.11 and 19.47 and with no public phone, you can feel you cut off from the land of FGW. It's a franchise committement, as I understand it, for the information point to be improved. Hmm - I wonder when that will happen. It was also a franchise committement to look after signage, and there was a certain irony that Wessex Trains put up new signs about a month before their term ended, so that they could then pass the station on in an acceptable condition. Someone then replaced the Wessex logo with the First logo a few days BEFORE the new franchise started ... which proves, I think, that things can be done quickly - even indecently quickly - when the will is there!
