Title: Update to Railway Station Comparator Post by: grahame on March 29, 2009, 10:40:52 Our "Railway Station Comparator" that covers all stations on the main railway network in Great Britain was updated to include the 2007 / 2008 footfall data when that was published a couple of weeks ago. I have now integrated that data more fully into the pages, so that you can call up the data for any station you choose and you'll see footfall data for 2006/7 and 2007/8 with an indication of the percentage change.
You also given data for nearby stations, and for stations which had a similar footfall now for 2007/8 throughout Great Britain. http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/ Note - this comparator is only available to registered and logged in members - guests are just given the data for a sample station. If you are not logged in, please log in. If you are not registered, please register - it's free! Title: Re: Update to Railway Station Comparator Post by: grahame on March 29, 2009, 11:25:08 And a further update. I've added extra comparison "stats" at the base of each of the columns, so that you can now see growth averages for stations in the same area, and stations with a similar reported footfall.
Some interesting results ... Growth rate (06/07 to 07/08) ... Near a certain Wiltshire station averaged 5% for the year ... For a Hampshire station averaged 6% For a Cornish station averaged 7% For a Devon station averaged 8% For a Dorset station averaged 8% (in each case, a station geographically in the middle of the county was chosen and it's the nearest stations) In terms of footflow reports ... Growth rate (06/07 to 07/08) For stations reporting similar 07/08 figures to Melksham: 11% average growth For tiny stations (circa 4000 footfall): 4% drop For stations similar in size to Bath / Bristol - 3% / 6% growth This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
