Good picture this one thetrout as its not a scene that will ever be repeated but was a common site during the early days of the expanded FGW franchise...an ex Trans Pennine Express 158 pre-refurb. Can't be many un-refurbed units left to be done now, just a couple of 150s and 143s?

Thanks Timmer, The quality of the picture turned out rather good (not meaning to blow my own trumpet ;) :P ) considering I only had my Mobile Phone Camera at the time ;D

Title: Re: Where is 158769

Would I be right in thinking that the track through the station is electrified...?

I have a sneaky idea it might be... ;)

Title: Re: Where is 158769
Post by: devon_metro on March 16, 2009, 22:33:27
You'd be wrong in thinking that ;)

I could get to this place with only one change of train.

No, G.uard might be familiar with this type of train, although not the location.

Title: Re: Where is 158769

Another clue then?

I'd be hard pressed to alight from a train here in daylight during winter (and its not Melksham  :D)

Another clue...

The train is allocated to 83C

Something has me looking at the St Budeaux area ... something that lead to the Tamar Valley line but is now part of the main line, perhaps.  Something else has me looking at Dean and Dunbridge ... and a third something tells me I'm probably off track with both areas  ;)

Isn't 83C the old steam days shed code for the depot at Exeter, - now EX?
