Post by: grahame on February 21, 2009, 10:00:55
Here is the first half of the new pictures from the top of this site.  Can you identify them?

#6 looks like Melksham to me - there's no trains in sight, which is a bit of a giveaway.

Was #7 taken in the boardroom of the Department of Transport?

There's plenty of clowns there. And the girl (?) standing second from right looks like a harbinger of death, so she's probably in charge of the future of railways.

Ah yes ... I am so used to seeing it like that.  Now that you mention it, the clue was obvious!

No - actually it wasn't but there do seem to be some possible comparisons to be made.  You have a whole cast of people (perhaps so many that one gets confused as to who is who, and who has what agenda), many of whom are in faintly or very odd roles ... and this results in some spectacularly peculiar situations. However, underneath their roles these are very earnest people doing their very best - and I think I can say that (but for a very few exceptions) that's also the case in the rail world.  The other great thing about the panto is that it ends "happily ever after" ...
