Title: Reduced Thames Valley Fares Post by: autotank on January 23, 2009, 12:10:59 Good news - some Thames Valley off-peak fares have been reduced!
http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/Content.aspx?id=3548 OK not by huge amounts - but definately a welcome relief. I was pleasantly surprised when my Reading - Didcot return came in at just ^3.30 with a railcard the other evening. Excellent value! Banbury - Newbury is excellent value for just ^15. Not sure Arriva will be too happy with that reduction! Serves then right for restricting off-peak services to Birmingham for Banbury residents. Title: Re: Reduced Thames Valley Fares Post by: autotank on January 23, 2009, 14:22:04 Just looking at these again - who would want to go from Newbury to Andover by train even if it only cost ^7! Would that be route Reading or could you go via Westbury?
Also it says Reading - Didcot return is ^5, does that mean that the corresponding Didcot - Reading fare is also ^5? Does that apply to all the fares?
