Title: Stapleton Road Post by: martyjon on July 09, 2007, 20:59:11 I can remember the days when Stapleton Road station was the interchange station for South Wales. My aunt who lives in Warminster always used to travel into Stapleton Road where we met her off the train but my other aunt who lived in West Bromwich was always met off the train at Bristol Temple Meads.
When we used to goto Warminster by train and we caught the last stopper back from there to Bristol, the guard had an extra duty, to extinguish the platform gas lighting at Bathampton station. How things have changed over the years. This page is printed from the "Coffee Shop" forum at http://gwr.passenger.chat which is provided by a customer of Great Western Railway.
