Title: The Kevin Bacon game, railway-style
Post by: TerminalJunkie on January 13, 2009, 16:54:07

Starting from Barnstaple (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/BNP.html (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/BNP.html)), can you get to Oban (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/OBN.html (http://www.firstgreatwestern.info/smr/OBN.html)) in less than six clicks?

If you want to know why it's called the Kevin Bacon Game, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Degrees_of_Kevin_Bacon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Degrees_of_Kevin_Bacon)
If you'd like to play the Kevin Bacon Game, see http://oracleofbacon.org/ (http://oracleofbacon.org/)

Five.

Cursor to right of the P in the location bar
Delete
Cursor to the left of the B
Press O
Press enter

It's that easy because OBN ends as BNP starts

BNP - CPN - FOC - OBN
(A new use for some of our quieter stations!)

BNP - CPN - FOC - OBN

I found a three early on, too: BNP - SGB - JEQ - OBN, so this is probably too easy.

Perhaps the questions should be whether there's a pair of stations that can't be done in four or fewer clicks?

(A new use for some of our quieter stations!)

Indeed :)
