Title: Man jailed after racial staff assault at Westbury Post by: Chris from Nailsea on November 20, 2008, 23:30:18 Quote A 38-year-old man from Bristol has been jailed for twelve weeks after assaulting a member of rail staff in a racial attack at Westbury railway station, Wiltshire. Paul Kent, of Somerset Street, was sentenced at Chippenham Magistrates^ Court on Monday 17 November for a racially aggravated public order offence and racially aggravated common assault. At around 2.10pm on Friday 31 October, the victim, a train operations manager, was called to deal with an abusive man who was smoking on a train at Westbury rail station. On approaching the train, the victim was verbally abused by Kent with racial slurs and threats. Kent then made repeated lunges towards the victim with his shoulder, hitting him in the chest whilst continuing to shout racial abuse.
