From the FGW website :

Nasty timing!

I don't suppose there's ever really a good time to get knocked down by a train....

According to the Reading Evening Post 27/10

"A woman died after she was hit by a high speed train (my italics), just outside Reading West station before rush hour this afternoon.
The woman, who had not been named as the Evening Post went to press, was hit by the 4.07pm train travelling from Reading to Basingstoke and services both ways were closed."

For those not aware the reasoning for italics is I assume due to the fact that the 16:07 is formed of a Turbo.

And probably travelling at no more than 30-40mph as it would have stopped at Reading West.
