I would have thought even if the front power car was slipping the rear would still grip. Title: Re: Poor Rail Conditions Causing Disruption (08/10/2008) Post by: Chris2 on October 08, 2008, 15:07:20 The golden hind departed Bodmin around 0615 this morning, heading towards Liskeard, but was unable to get up the hill, so it ended up reversing to Bodmin, where it waited for sand to be applied to the rails. It left Bodmin again about ten past eight.
Apparantly it was a combination of leaves and dew that caused the bad rail conditions. That is what the train manager said when asked.
