Title: Delays on Cotswold Line on October 2
Post by: Worcester_Passenger on October 03, 2008, 08:18:09
I travelled from Paddington to Worcester on the 18:21 on Thursday October 2.

It left Oxford 6 minutes late and was then held at a signal for 5-6 minutes. 14 late at Kingham. 21 late leaving Moreton and Evesham (so the one going the other way must have been sat there for ages!).

21 late into Shrub Hill, where we had to wait for the 20:58 from Foregate St. Had I known how long that was going to take, I'd've walked home from Shrub Hill.

As it was, we're 30 late into Foregate St.

Does anyone know what caused all of this? Or is it just FGW welcoming me back to my first trip to London after my holidays?

Probably good old knock-on delays. There is a post on the Charlbury commuter blog saying the 17.21 was about 10 minutes late leaving Oxford - no explanation was offered on board - but since this service passes two trains coming the other way, which in turn can delay the 17.51, then the 18.21 probably just ran into the results of what followed.
