Title: Signalling Problems In The Severn Tunnel Area (27/09/2008)
Post by: Lee on September 27, 2008, 18:34:04
A fair bit of disruption due to this. From the FGW website :

Train services between Bristol Parkway and Newport South Wales have been disrupted due to signalling problems in the Severn Tunnel area.Engineers have worked as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes may still occur.

I was caught up in this...no trains could go through the Severn tunnel, and I'm guessing the London HSTs went via Gloucester to Swindon. I got a local Arriva train to Newport and there were replacement buses there to Bristol Parkway, which was fun(!). Seemed to be chaotic at Bristol Parkway, as Cross Country services were hours late too...
