GWR appear to be launching a rewards programme in March.

From what I understand, signing up will start you on Bronze tier and you progress up to Silver and Gold.

Bronze tier gets you 1 free on board beverage, 1 40% off a ticket voucher and 10% off on board food and drink.
Silver (50 points) goes up to 15% off on board food/drink; Gold (120 points) 20% off.  Silver and Gold earn you free tickers, lounge access and Pullman dining offer.

You will earn points by booking via GWR.com & GWR app.  10 points for spending £30-69.99 per day and 20 points for >£70.
PAYG points are earned depending on your weekly capped spend.
Points reset on the anniversary of your sign up.

Interesting, although I've not seen anything about it online or on my GWR app yet.   Is the launch official yet or is that soon to come?

Sounds interesting, sadly too late for me having just spent over £200 on upcoming trips.

Invitiation just received, application simple and completed. Membership also confirmed more or less instantly.

It'd be good to bring GWR season ticket holders on board.

Well I seem to remember a statement that they would come up eventually with something new after the old "Forward" loyalty scheme was closed.

Taken a bloody long time though ...

... but that's how we do things, here on the railways, in the UK.  ;)

How does this fit with the 'End of franchises' thing. SWR have just launched their version, yes?

Can Season Ticket holders join?

Yes, Season Ticket holders receive Bronze welcome rewards upon joining. However, journeys made with Season Tickets don’t count towards Silver or Gold tiers. We are exploring options for Season Ticket holders and will share updates in the future.

Indeed, and it's curious. Two adjacent TOCs, same ownership(?) launch two very different reward schemes: on the one hand, discounts on travel and benefits on the TOCs network, on the other hand, marketing / discounts on specific destination attractions of certain flavours. On a rail network supposedly heading for nationalisation and increased customer focus.

(That aside, I'd have a personal preference for GWR's approach...)

I guess that they'll both be retailing tickets & you get to choose to which you give your hard-earned in order to purchase tickets. Similar to your supermarket shopping?
