Title: Google Earth
Post by: John R on June 09, 2008, 21:57:30
Has anyone noticed the new upgrade to Google Earth appears to highlight some fairly bizarre places of railway interest. In my research into the Ashton Gate area, highlighted were:-

Ashton Jn
Ashton Junction Signal Box
West Depot Signal Box (funny, I've passed that spot most days for the last 5 years and not spotted it)
120-40
120-50
120-60
but then a gap to
121-20
(These are distances in miles/chains from London for the uninitiated)
Parson St Railway Station
Parson St Station
FGW Parson St
Booking Office at Road Level (yep, at Parson St!)

I believe Barry Doe's been campaigning for Google Earth to show stations, but it looks as though he's got more than he bargained for.

Must go and check what it shows for Melksham......ah, only two entries.
