Title: Does anyone know what is going on at WOS tomorrow with the parking.........
Post by: Mookiemoo on June 09, 2008, 21:10:37
I know this should be in the Cotswolds but I'm appealing to the widest audience possible.   I also know it s a London Midland issue but hey - word travels.

Got back to night to find stickers saying "No parking at this station until 1030am tomorrow."

When I asked the station staff, even those who are usually frank and honest off the record would only say "I could not possibly comment"

So two questions:

1. What is going on

2. Why less than 24 hours notice

I guess I'm working from home tomorrow

Sorry, Mookiemoo, I've done some 'digging', but I haven't been able to find out what's going on.

The parking at WOS is managed by Meteor - but their contact number is just a recorded message, saying they're not open until 0630 tomorrow morning.  ???

The only suggestion I can offer is that you contact them:

Primary Phone Number 0870 060 4416
Email Address comments@londonmidlandparking.com

Good luck  ::)  ;D

Is it anything to do with Prince Charles going to Worcester tomorrow?

Thanks, Ollie: that'll explain the security blanket of obscurity that's descended over the matter, then!

Good for them though, travelling by train:

"The Prince and The Duchess will travel along The Severn Valley Railway to celebrate the reopening of the line which was also damaged by the flooding."

 ;) :D ;D

It's a theory, don't know that is the reason :)

Makes sense however considering the number of people who use WOS to park - this is outrageous

Sorry - the royals are parasites - but then I am a federalist

This akes me mad

Think of the people who dont have jobs where they can remote work

yes, other city centre car parks (usually full) are made available - at considerable inconvenience to the paying public

Whilst I would agree it is a huge inconvenience that the carpark is being made unavailable.
I do need to point out, that it is merely speculation that the reason is related to Prince Charles's visit.

True

But I suspect the case an mid morning tomorrow we will get clarification

And if it is, I will be flaming London Midland

Had it been last week, before I got a work laptop, I would be down a days income.

Notice would have helped peopl makealternative arrangements

Whatever the reason, the lack of notice is appalling.
